YOUTH SECTIONS
Medway Little Theatre has 2 active youth sections:
The
Children's Workshop
(ages 7-12) meets on Saturdays 2pm - 4pm;
The Youth Company (ages 12-18) meets
Saturdays from 10.30am -12.30pm.
Medway Little Theatre’s commitment to young
people has a long history. Our Youth Company (then called the Youth Group) dates back to
1964, when we realised that there was at that time no provision in the Towns for
youngsters keen on theatre between leaving school and working with our main company. The Company has presented many fine shows
over the years (including visits to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe) and has provided
hundreds of young people with an experience of the theatre which has undoubtedly enriched
their lives.
Later, we introduced a weekly Workshop for younger members from 7 to 12. Each stages its own annual shows and in recent years both groups have combined for highly successful Youth Extravaganzas.
