A BRIEF TOUR OF THE THEATRE

As you enter our tiny foyer on the night of a show, the first person you are likely to see will be Penny, our Box Office Manager. Hers will, of course, have been the voice you will have heard when you called 01634 400322 to book your tickets.
Once inside, it is difficult to imagine that this...		...........was once this.
The auditorium, though 'bijou' to say the least, is made to seem larger by having the bar area a part of the same space.
If the curtains are drawn (and they rarely are these days).don't be deceived by the apparent restrictions of the stage. You will be astonished at its depth and flexibility once the show begins. The ingenuity of our designers and directors is endless!
			If you stand centre-stage, looking back and above you, you will see one of our two well-equipped lighting galleries.
These lamps and those in the other galleries are operated from the Control Box behind the rear wall of the auditorium. The controls for our sound system are also housed here.
	To the left of the stage as you face the audience, you will see the Stage Manager's Desk. During performances the Stage Manager has complete control of the theatre. He or she can speak directly to the Control Box and Dressing Room. We also have CCTV showing the stage, the auditorium and the foyer (but not the dressing room!).
The Dressing Room, though spartan, is well provided with all that is needed for the performers to prepare themselves.
				The first floor of the theatre building is largely taken up by our Wardrobe. We make and maintain one of the largest stocks of costumes in the south-east.
At the rear of the theatre, in a separate building, is the workshop where sets are constructed by our team of skilled workers. The workshop is not normally as tidy as the picture shows - it is, after all, the place where (according to the set builders) all the real work is done!
